The most recent suggestions from Public Health Ontario include “Airborne Precautions should be used for aerosol generating medical procedures (AGMPs) planned or anticipated to be performed on patients with suspected or confirmed COVID‐19.” Airborne precautions include an N95 mask/respirator instead of a surgical mask.
These suggestions are based on the most recent evidence, as we learn more about the virus and the variants that have emerged.
